Andrew Addy, a local real estate agent serving Chester County and the Greater Philadelphia Area, wanted a new brand and a new website. We began by discussing the content of the site. What to include, and what to exclude. In a market that is so heavily (but often poorly) represented on the web, we wanted to make sure that Andrew’s new site stood out for the right reasons.

Additionally, the site needed to drive home several opportunities to capture new leads. Contact forms and CTAs (call-to-action) appear throughout every page, without overwhelming the visitor. Finally, Andrew wanted to provide visitor’s a way to search beyond his own listings using his office’s unique IDX feed, which we iframed into his site.

The brand was developed alongside the website, and will be used throughout his real estate materials to provide a consistent, fresh, and clear message.

If you are a real estate agent looking for a more unique web presence than the incomplete, cookie-cutter site your office provides, please get in touch below!

UPDATE: We recently updated the design and framework for Extrapackofpeanuts.com using the Genesis Framework and a Kennedy Digital Media custom child theme. Genesis provides a far superior framework, security, and SEO options. We used a similar design, but provided a cleaner more refined look and feel. Also, better readability and more space for sidebars. Check out the latest picture above for a screenshot or visit the site itself!

What they managed to do here was sell us ourselves. In this spot, we are the product. Not the sneakers, not the star athlete, not the shorts, not the shirts. The product is something that they are going to draw out of us. Will they sell us some shoes along the way? Of course. But I’m game, these Asics better wear out soon, ’cause I want a new pair of Nike running shoes.

I personally use the Nike+ iPhone app to track runs. It’s motivating. When there are 6 days with no run posted to Facebook, I feel pushed to get back out there. All of this falls in line with their message: you are the product. We’ll sell you the accessories. They’ve sold the brand without pushing a single product.

Oh right, I say that. All the time. Well, I was dead wrong. This is hands down one of the funniest commercials I have seen in some time. BETC said they had to prove that the movies Canal+ broadcasts could not be ignored. Well, they certainly accomplished that and more, with an ad that can’t be ignored. Maybe it’s my slightly askew sense of humor or maybe it’s time spent living in Europe trying to perfect the mockingly French accent with my siblings (French chef’s song in the Little Mermaid anyone?), but I have been watching this one on repeat for weeks. Now I just have to figure out who will provide me with Canal+ in Philadelphia. Cabletown??

While I’d often rather hit character-driven commercials are left alone as one-offs, I wouldn’t mind seeing what else could be done with “The Bear”. Just so long as they don’t go all major american insurance company with prehistoric humor on it. Sitcom? No thanks.

This is a guest post from Sarah Kennedy Sexton
Not to turn this into an all VW commercials blog but this one is too good to not talk about, right away.
When have you ever seen a bad Volkswagen commercial? Oh that’s right, you haven’t.
This one is exceptionally brilliant though. Its hard to go wrong with a Star Wars theme. Add a miniature and adorable Darth Vader and you are pretty much set.

This commercial works with everyone from Star Wars fans all the way to moms of young kids (this one included) who can relate as they have probably watched their 4 year olds march around the house in the very same gear every day. You can almost see this commercial spring to life in the brain of the ad company employee while watching their kid use the force on everything from their little brother to the mailman. VW strikes again with another great commercial!

This time using a clip from Gene Kelly and Donald O’Connor’s sitting dance routine, Volkswagen and Deutsch L.A. have updated a classic to sell their product.

You may remember DDB London‘s past effort to sell the Polo GTI in Europe, by updating Gene Kelly’s famous scene from “Singing in the Rain” (shown below). This time Volkswagen turned to Deutsch L.A. to help launch the new Jetta in a similar fashion. Honestly, I had to deduct personal points when I realized they were running with another agency’s concept. Then again, if the client, VW, is happy (and it is after all their brand and image being sold) who really cares. It’s a fun piece, cleverly highlighting the spacious new backseat of the new Jetta. A much classier approach than I imagine they could have taken. The song used is Pigeon John’s “The Bomb“.

While I have become increasingly disappointed with Superbowl commercials in general, there were a few that stuck out to me this year. Aside from my hands down favorite (“The Force”), these two ranked pretty high for me…

Maybe I’m a little burned out on the sad attempts at comedy in Doritos and Budweiser commercials, but these two for Motorola and Chrysler were well-made and caught my eye for several reasons.

Title: Imported from Detroit
Brand: Chrysler
Agency: Wieden+Kennedy Portland

Honestly, what could be more bad-ass than a sequence of industrial-glamor shots of Detroit mixed with it’s cultural trappings, all set to the guitar hook from Detroit-born rapper Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”? Add to that a voice-over so bent on succeeding as the underdog that Philly should be jealous. Oh, and Eminem is, of course, driving through town in the new Chrysler 200. I’m not surprised Creativity and Ad Age named Wieden+Kennedy Portland their agency of the year.

Title: Empower the People
Brand: Motorola
Agency: Anomaly

This one had to be mentioned. Apple fans may not be amused, but the timing couldn’t have been better. Many may remember when Apple took on the current standard using their own “1984″ campaign (below). Well, now Motorola has taken a shot at Apple and apple culture in their latest ad for their own iPad alternative tablet, the Xoom. It may be a bit obvious that the protagonist is reading Orwell’s classic on his Xoom, but nonetheless (as a Mac user) I couldn’t help but laugh at the spot-on caricature of the white-earbud-wearing apple culture.

The treatments were provided as Quicktime .mov files using the PNG codec and an alpha channel layer, as we were working cross-platform from CS5 to Final Cut Studio.

For this print advertisement project, the client had an older print ad and a new product or service to advertise. They wanted the design of the new advertisement to match the look of the old print ad. Sometimes new thought and creativity are required, sometimes the client just wants it to fit within their established look. Also, if you’re in need of computer consulting services in the western Philly suburbs, all the more reason to check out Main Line Computer Consulting and their new ad above.

If you have any design needs, new or existing, get in touch!

This was a re-brand for MTA (Mission Together Africa), a non-profit organization based in Kenya . The client wanted to move away from outdated, often overused color schemes and at the same time shed a new light on the continent of Africa.

As with all of my brand design clients, I first gathered some info to understand the client’s desired direction. Then several varied design directions were provided. The focus was then narrowed and refined until we found a brand identity the client was excited about.

Final delivery to the client included primary, secondary, and tertiary logos for both web and print in grayscale and color, as well as letterhead design.
